It's been a long hot summer and I actually managed to grow a social life of sorts. I haven't been taking pictures, I haven't been weighing harvests, I haven't been planting, and I haven't been updating... bad girl.
I offer an apology to my readers, and an approximate description of harvests and current garden conditions, as well as info regarding future plans.

The onions never matured. | We did eat a bunch of these already. Very tasty! | Garlic, garlic, garlic! |
We've been picking peas and snap beans as they mature and recently have been able to pick some cherry and plum tomatoes as well. I've also just harvested the onions and garlic.
And now for the garden tour:
| |
Beefsteak Tomatoes are still trying to produce. | Paste Tomatoes are doing okay. |
| |
Cherry tomatoes setting and ripening nicely, but they didn't grow very tall up the trellis |
|
Bell peppers starting to grow. This one's only about an inch and a half across. |
|
The peas have died. Possibly naturally possibly because of this annoying vine John called bindweed. |
| |
Bean pod almost ripe. | Flower that will make more beans. |
|
The purple peas never really had a chance after getting mangled during the raccoon rescue. We got 2 or 3 pods. |
|
The sweet potatoes were dug up, replanted, dug up, replanted... the raccoons really like sweet potatoes. |
| | |
The broccoli never really set right. Maybe too much shade or too dry? | The kale is doing good. (Pic at noon) |
| |
The lettuce got way to big and bitter. | The carrots didn't really grow yet. |
|
The herb bed's looking good and the parsley may need severe harvesting. |
| | |
Callendula & Chives | Jalapeneo "beavered" by wildlife. | Dragon pepper looking good. |
So now you're updated. Hope you enjoyed the tour and I'll be back with updates on next season's plans. There will be more companion planting and attention to light/water requirements with less emphasis on succession planting(because I never kept up with it).
