I got plenty of weeds pulled this weekend and a bunch more seeds started. (see calendar for details)
Inspecting the sprouts inside I found one was damaged.
Transplanted some of the older sprouts (broccoli and parsley) to the great outdoors yesterday.
Most are doing well.
I used zip-ties to make hoops of hardware cloth for the compost heap.
Turns out we had a lot more composting materials in that heap than I realized.
I had considered getting a "proper" black plastic composter but they're $50! and they'd only hold as much as one or maybe one and a half of my mesh mock ups. The hardware cloth for each hoop cost $10 and the zip-ties I count as free because we already had them but they would have only been about a buck. We're going to need a lot more because this is just from November. I figure we'll fill at least another four hoops this year alone.
How do you compost? Do you stir? Feed worms indoors? Or maybe use a municipal green bin?

Tree sprouts from a neighbor's box elder. | Don't know what these are but I didn't plant them. |

No clue what caused this except maybe it touched the window. Ideas? |

One's translucent. Frost damage? | This broccoli's doing fine. | And so is the parsley. |

Much tidier compost setup. | Today's scraps makes 2 full hoops. Getting more mesh Tues. |
